Howdy,
My name’s Sydney Blake… It’s kind of a weird story, but to keep it short, yes I’m currently training to get my pilot’s license, and yes I am a professional Amelia Earhart Impersonator.
The latter of the two, believe it or not, happened out of luck and my sheer love of vintage costuming.
I’ve admired Amelia and her courageous spirit since the second grade, and she has largely influenced my passion in pursuing my pilot’s license. Over the last two years, I have been able to bring Amelia back to life and inspire a new generation of pilots while speaking of my own love of Aviation.
I have been the official “Amelia,” for the San Diego Air and Space Museum, the San Diego Ninety-Nines Women’s Aviation Club, and somehow I am lucky enough to be the “Official Amelia Earhart” of Amelia’s hometown of Atchison, KS.
I have over 15 years of performing experience, 3 years of improv, and 4 years of historical vintage costuming, all of which have led me to here.
So get to know me, and get to meet Amelia sometime.
Bringing History Back To Life
Meet and Greets & Educational Talks
Whether it’s a museum, classroom, or special event, I bring “Amelia” along with me. Meet and greets typically last 1-2 hours, and involve light conversation and pictures in character. For classrooms and educational events, I have a presentation prepared to highlight the amazing achievements of the accomplished aviatrix while in character. I even have aviation centered projects for younger students where I teach about airspace and aeronautical charts.Photographs
What Folks are Saying…
“It was like Amelia was there herself as portrayed by Sydney, an impersonator of the famed Atchison-born aviatrix. Blake, a pilot, and a member of the San Diego, California Chapter of the 99s, came to town for a vacation and was present as Amelia for a meet and greet.”-Atchison Globe.
