About Me

EDUCATION: • Associate degree in Fashion Design from Brooks College Long Beach, California June 1991. • Certified in CPR and first aid. • Able to communicate in basic Spanish. • Basic Baby sign language • Experience caring for special needs children with: Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, premature birth, Autism, PTSD, and Fragile X Syndrome. • Corona Virus compliant and believe that children should wash their hands often. RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: Mother and Homemaker- August 1996 to Present • As a single parent I devoted my life providing for, protecting, nurturing, and loving my five girls (ages 14, 21, 24, 26, and 28 years old). • My three oldest daughters graduated high school at the age of 16 years old and 17 years old. They were raised on a small horse ranch, and they showed horses while attending homeschooling and college. They left home to further their education at California State Universities. • In addition to raising mine and on occasion providing childcare for others, I was actively involved in other projects that included but not limited to renovating my own homes and large acreage of properties, managing the sales of my own properties, and property management of my own rental. Foster Parenting- September 2020-April 2021 • I became a trauma care foster mom to a 6- year-old and then another 7-year-old girl, while continuing to raise my two daughters who are still at home. • I provide the same care to my foster daughters as I do for my other two children still living with me as if she was my own daughter. • I have worked closely with my foster daughter’s Case Worker, and other community services. • I supervise contact that my one foster daughter has had with her father during Zoom meeting and phone calls. • I would take my foster daughter with my family when we go to church. • I work with my foster daughter using positive reinforcement and teach her proper ways to deal with her emotions. • When my foster daughter became part of our family it was during Covid-19 lock down and she was home schooled the same as my other two children. • I have been a respite foster mom for families in need. • My fifth daughter continued homeschooling until she advanced a grade ahead in fall 2024 and is now enrolled in person attending High School.
